Nessy is hiddenIn the short period after the competition and before the closing ceremonies, we wondered down by the lake and found to our surprise, the lake had its own Nessy lake monster, lurking several hundred yards off shore. I couldn't resist a picture of such a monumental find.

With the closing ceremonies concluded, we hopped one of the natural gas operated shuttles up the hill, a mile or so to the park lodge, overlooking the Ohio river, noting idly that we passed the entrance to the campground shortly after starting the climb. We gazed out over the valley below while dining on a simple but well prepared buffet of fish, roast beef and some of theLaura best spare ribs I had had in a while. As we were getting ready to leave a very nice blind man was seated at the table next to ours. After he placed his order with the waitress he settled back and started singing, softly to himself. He was obviously well-liked as people constantly stopped by his table to say "Hi".
We ended our lodge visit with a trip to the top level sitting room which was typical of the lodges in this area, large cathedral type-ceilings, and shiny wood wall, supporting large bay windows which overlooked a wide expanse of the Ohio river. A quick picture of Laura and we wondered outside. With our belly's full and a warm sun shining we decided to walk off the calories by walking the mile back to the festival.
As we left the lodge, Laura noted a small inconspicuous, somewhat amateur painted sign, several yards off the roadway. The simple instruction, painted over the arrow, read "campground 1/4 mile".
