OK, so enough with what we did, what are the free shows right? On all of the following be sure and check on times. Some don't start until late in the day, and some only run at certain times. (The ones that are actually on the strip I will mark with S)
1 - Treasure Island(S)- The Pirate Show. A definite can't miss.
2 - The Mirage
(S)- exploding volcano show every 1/2 hr. Inside you can view the White Tiger Habitat. There is also the Secret Garden that is home to six rare animal breeds ($) and the Dolphin Habitat ($).
3 - The Bellagio
(S) - the outside water show.
4 - Caesar's Forum
(S) - the living statues. This is inside and you have to ask directions. They also have a 3D presentation ($) called Race For Atlantis. This is viewed with a 3D visor and is definitely NOT something for someone who gets motion sickness. I missed better than half of it. (Urp) Also, check out the shops while your there. Pricey but window shopping is free. Caesar's Magical Empire offers free luminaria shows.
5 - The Venetian(S) - there is a charge to ride the gondolas through the waterways but it is well worth it.
6 - Fremont Street - The light and sound show.
7 - Rio's - They feature an inside Mardi Gras parade that is suspended from the ceiling. For a charge you can ride in the parade with the performers.
8 - The Stratosphere - see the view of the city from the top - night time is best for this.
9 - Las Vegas Hilton - If your a Star-Trekie you can't miss The Experience. It costs $24.95 per person but it is a multi-media presentation that I wouldn't have missed.
10-Sahara
(S) - Cyber Speedway. $
11-MGM Grand
(S)- They have a lion habitat. They also feature a studio walk and star lane.
12 - PARIS
(S) - They have a replica of the Eiffel Tower that soars 540 feet about the strip. ($)
13 - New York-New York
(S) - They feature a Coney Island type atmosphere. They have a roller coaster ($) and midway-style games and rides.
14 - Sam's Town - has a Sunset Stampede. Also a light and water show.
15 - Luxor
(S) - try their buffet just to see the decor. Looks like you're right outside the pyramids. They also feature an Imax 3d Theatre presentation ($)
There are always any number of entertainers and shows in town. Most are a little pricey but if you have a favorite entertainer or show they are spectacular and well worth the price. In addition to all this just walking through the casinos and watching the "High-Rollers" drop thousands of dollars at a single turn of the roulette wheel is an interesting study in human nature. I
don't want to try and tell you that our big cities are getting polluted, but this is the first time I have ever seen an oxygen bar. It's a place where you can go and (for a price) breathe pure oxygen. What people won't spend money on.
And speaking of spending money ladies, they do have several outlet malls in Vegas that offer good bargains on a number of items. I'm sure there are a few that I have missed, but these should give you a good start when you go your first time. Have fun and above all GOOD LUCK! A very special thanks to Shari Groves, Tim Thomas, and Lynn and Sue Davis who helped me with my research.

Have Fun! and Stay Safe!

Laura
